Full Recipe:
Ingredients:
-
2 sheets butter puff pastry, thawed
-
500g lean chicken mince
-
35g taco seasoning
-
1/2 cup tasty cheese, shredded
-
1/4 cup cold water
-
1 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
-
1 egg (for glazing)
-
1 tbsp milk (for glazing)
-
1 pinch paprika
Directions:
-
Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
-
Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the chicken mince, taco seasoning, shredded cheese, cold water, and chopped parsley. Mix well until everything is evenly incorporated.
-
Prepare the Pastry: Cut the puff pastry sheets in half. Place a quarter of the mince mixture into a sausage shape along one edge of each pastry strip.
-
Shape the Rolls: Brush the other edge of the pastry strip with egg wash. Roll the pastry up with the seam underneath, forming a log shape.
-
Cut the Rolls: Cut each log into eight rolls, about 3cm long, without cutting all the way through.
-
Bake the Rolls: Place the rolls onto a lined baking tray. Brush them with egg wash and sprinkle with paprika. Bake for 15 minutes.
-
Finish Baking: After 15 minutes, cut the rolls all the way through and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until golden brown.
